Bemidji, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A violent and chaotic incident at the Roosevelt Manor trailer park in Bemidji has led to felony charges against Elaina J. Mewszel following a shocking series of events witnessed by multiple people, including children.

According to the statement of probable cause, the situation unfolded on Monday at 8:45 p.m., when a deputy responded to a trailer at 2112 Roosevelt Manor for a reported assault. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with a victim who was not immediately forthcoming. However, at the scene, blood droplets were seen trailing from the front door, and a bloody handprint was found on the side of the home.

A neighbor provided video evidence that painted a clearer and far more disturbing picture. In the footage, Elaina J. Mewszel is seen ramming a van into the trailer’s porch multiple times, pouring gasoline on the ground nearby, and chasing the victim while brandishing a knife — all in front of multiple children.

The next day, the deputy returned and obtained additional surveillance video, which showed Mewszel driving a vehicle in reverse, then accelerating toward the victim, ultimately striking them and forcing them onto the hood of the vehicle. The footage also captured her stabbing at the vehicle’s tires and again chasing the victim with a knife.

As a result, Elaina J. Mewszel is now facing multiple felony charges, including:

  • Second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon

  • Terroristic threats

Authorities continue to investigate the case, and more details may emerge.
