Moorhead, MN (Clay County) (trfnews.i234.me)—Christopher Bettis and Marissa Beutler are facing felony charges after a dramatic police pursuit and chaotic arrest in Moorhead on January 28, 2025.
According to court documents, officers responded to a report of possible drug use in a pickup truck parked at 508 32nd Avenue South. Bettis, the driver, and Beutler, the passenger, refused to comply with commands. A large pit bull was also inside the vehicle.
In an attempt to escape, Bettis put the vehicle in reverse and crashed into a police squad car before getting stuck. He then tried to flee on foot, requiring five officers to subdue and arrest him. Meanwhile, Beutler jumped into the driver’s seat and also attempted to drive away, but was quickly stopped and arrested.
Both suspects now face felony charges of fleeing police and meth possession. Further legal proceedings are pending.
