Investigators say Ryan Anthony Frye, employed by White Earth Tribal College, engaged in explicit online conversations with the undercover account. The complaint alleges Frye made sexual comments, discussed meeting in person, and sent a video of his genitalia, believing he was communicating with a minor.
Frye is now facing three felony counts in Olmsted County District Court. The charges include soliciting a child or someone believed to be a child through electronic communication, engaging in electronic communication describing sexual conduct with a child, and distributing material that relates to sexual conduct with a child.
Authorities say these charges are part of continued statewide efforts to target online child exploitation. Police stress the importance of parents monitoring online activity and encourage reporting any suspicious behavior. Learn more about child internet safety here.
Court proceedings are ongoing, and Frye remains charged. No trial date has yet been set. Officials say the case underscores the dangers of online predatory behavior and highlights the importance of undercover operations in protecting children.
