Wheelchair-Bound Man Attacked by Erratic Woman in Downtown Bemidji

BEMIDJI, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A wheelchair-bound man was assaulted in downtown Bemidji, Minnesota, on Friday. According to a Facebook post by the victim’s wife, the attack occurred when a woman, who was behaving erratically and shouting racial slurs, began causing disturbances in the area. She reportedly knocked over signs, got into parked cars, and assaulted another man on a street corner.

The woman then turned her attention to the wheelchair-bound victim, slashing his face and causing severe injuries to his right eyebrow and eyelids. The victim bled profusely until an ambulance arrived and transported him to the hospital, where he received stitches and his eye was sealed shut due to the injury.

An officer at the scene charged the woman with a felony. More details are expected as the case progresses.
