Officials say the incident happened last week when first responders were called to the school after receiving a report of a student who was not breathing.
The child, a seven-year-old boy, was transported for care but later passed away. The exact details of the emergency have not been released. Authorities confirmed the tragic loss and said counseling services are being made available to students and staff.
In a statement released on Monday, St. Cloud Area School District officials expressed their condolences to the boy’s family, classmates, and teachers. “We are deeply saddened by this loss.
