West Fargo (trfnews.i234.me) – A man with no listed address is facing three felony charges after a purse snatching incident at a West Fargo bar earlier this week.
According to court documents, the incident happened on November 10 at the Shy Bar in West Fargo. Several victims reported that their purses were taken while they were inside the bar. The purses contained cash, credit cards, phones, and other personal items.
Witnesses at the bar provided information to the police. Surveillance video also helped identify a suspect. Officers later located the man walking near the business.
Police arrested Demario M. Crudup. He is now charged with three felony counts of theft. The charging documents state that the stolen purses belonged to three separate victims. Each victim reported valuable items missing, including bank cards and cell phones.
Investigators say the video footage clearly showed Crudup taking the purses. Officers reported that he matched the description provided by bar staff and customers. Police say the stolen items were handled quickly, which increased the severity of the charges.
Felony theft penalties in North Dakota can vary depending on the value of the items taken and the number of victims involved. More information on state theft laws is available through the North Dakota Courts website: ndcourts.gov.
Police did not report any injuries during the incident. The bar cooperated fully with investigators and provided access to security video. Additional evidence may be reviewed as the case moves forward.
The case remains active in Cass County District Court. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
