Fargo (trfnews.i234.me) – A West Fargo man is facing felony charges after police responded to a reported burglary in progress in Fargo early Saturday morning.

According to court records, officers were dispatched on August 17 at about 2:13 a.m. after a woman called 911 to report someone was trying to break into her apartment. The woman told police she believed the person attempting to enter was her ex-boyfriend, identified as Cole Michael Simenson.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Simenson exiting the building. Police say he resisted officers and struggled during the arrest. He was eventually taken into custody without further incident.

Simenson has been charged with felony attempted criminal trespass and felony preventing arrest. Authorities have not released further details on whether any damage occurred during the incident or if the woman sustained injuries.

The case is now moving forward in Cass County District Court. Fargo police remind residents to report suspicious activity immediately and take precautions to secure their homes.
