Wednesday Sentencing for Eric Reinbold Postponed; Fires Defense Attorney After Murder Conviction

THIEF RIVER FALLS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) Sentencing for Eric Reinbold of Oklee, Minnesota was delayed on this Wednesday afternoon, after he fired his defense attorney, just before sentencing. A new sentencing date has been set. Reinbold is convicted of stabbing to death his wife in July of 2021.
Neil Berg here in Thief River Falls Minnesota outside the Pennington County Courthouse where no cameras are allowed some breaking news here uh 46 year old Eric Reinbold was just scheduled to be sentenced but that sentencing has been delayed again everyone involved here was meeting on Zoom but it’s now been announced in court that Reinbold has dismissed his attorney Eric or I should say Bruce Rivers and plans to get a new attorney so Judge John said has delayed sentencing to an in-person sentencing for Wednesday January 11th at that time all the parties will need to be in court and that includes those for uh victims statements now Ryan bold is uh charged convicted with the murder of his wife Lizette in July of 2021 at their Farmstead near Oakley Minnesota uh he’s he was convicted of two counts of second-degree Murder One intentional each of those charges carries a maximum of 40 years in prison the outcome sentencing for that again as I said will take place on January 11th but there’s also more facing three felony counts for assault of a Corrections Officers and attempted Escape here at the Corrections Center in Thief River Falls that’s another case plus he was already on probation for possessing explosives uh at uh near his farm in Oakley and that’s also another case that has to be gone through the courts but again at the age of 46 he’s facing the potential of 80 years in prison under aggravated sentencing guidelines but again a bit of a shocker he dismisses his defense attorney Bruce Rivers his only sentencing left in this case he told the judge that he plans to get a new attorney soon and the judge said it will need to be soon because there’ll be an in-person sentencing on January 11th in Thief River Falls I’m Neil Berg reporting for itrfnews.i234.me
