The 40th anniversary of WE Fest begins Thursday near Detroit Lakes.
The annual event draws more than 100 thousand people with some of the biggest names in country music at the Soo Pass Ranch, a sprawling, 500-acre property just south of Detroit Lakes which takes place on the first weekend in August.
We Fest organizers say they already had plans to increase security in efforts to keep people as safe as possible. In addition to the new security measures implemented by the festival, the Becker County Sheriff’s Office says they’re specifically targeting underage drinking this year.
Ingstad Radio is there all week, including Jake, from the Jake & Bower Show, along with North Country 99.3’s Dan & Amy from Minnesota Mornings and Shawn Parr from Backstage Country.
WE Fest’s “40th Birthday Bash” is set to get underway tonight (Aug. 2) at 6 p.m.
