Mahnomen County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Waubun man is facing multiple felony charges after an early morning domestic incident involving an axe, methamphetamine, and a struggle with deputies.

According to court documents, Joshua Robert Fox was reported at 4:27 a.m. on July 21, 2025, sitting on the hood of a vehicle with an axe in rural Waubun, refusing to let his girlfriend leave or take the vehicle.

When deputies arrived, Fox was informed he was under arrest. He fled on foot, prompting deputies to deploy a taser. Fox was tased twice before dropping to the ground but continued to resist, attempting to grab a deputy’s taser during the struggle. Deputies tased him again to subdue him.

During the arrest, Fox was found to be in possession of approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine.

He now faces three felony charges:

  • Possession of 10 grams or more of methamphetamine

  • Disarming a peace officer

  • Domestic assault

He also faces misdemeanor charges of obstructing the legal process and fleeing on foot.
