Fargo-Moorhead ( trfnews.i234.me ) – Heavy thunderstorms Tuesday evening led to widespread street flooding across the Fargo-Moorhead area and prompted a dramatic water rescue.

According to the National Weather Service, the hardest-hit areas included downtown and South Fargo-Moorhead. While Fargo’s airport recorded 1.69 inches of rain, areas along the I-94 corridor from Casselton to Dilworth saw 3 to 4 inches.

At 10:11 p.m., Fargo police responded to a vehicle submerged in a drainage ditch on the 1400 block of 25th Avenue South. Two women were stranded on the roof of the car and were rescued by Fargo Fire Department crews. No injuries were reported.

Authorities continue urging drivers to use caution and avoid flooded roads as cleanup efforts continue across the region.
