Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) – A downtown Fargo disturbance spiraled into chaos Saturday when a man punched three police officers and took off running, sparking a brief chase that’s now gone viral online.
Fargo Police responded to a suspicious activity call around 4:35 PM on the 200 block of Roberts Street North. The suspect, 37-year-old Joseph Manitowabi, resisted arrest and struck three officers during the confrontation before fleeing on foot.
He was quickly apprehended and now faces multiple charges, including:

Preventing Arrest

Three counts of Assault on a Police Officer

Possession of Methamphetamine

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Manitowabi has no permanent address. The three officers sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
A bystander’s video of the chase and scuffle has garnered over a million views on social media, drawing widespread attention to the violent altercation in the heart of Fargo.
This case remains under active investigation.
