Washington Lake Township (trfnews.i234.me) – A crash occurred on December 12, 2025, at 2:26 PM, on Highway 5 near Mile Marker 17 in Washington Lake Township, Sibley County. A 2021 Buick Enclave, driven by 49-year-old Nathan Bentley Stevermer of Sleepy Eye, MN, collided with a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 33-year-old Katelyn Ann Bjorklund of Arlington, MN, while both vehicles were traveling on Highway 5, one eastbound and one westbound.
The crash caused significant damage to both vehicles, and several individuals were transported for medical treatment. Bjorklund, the driver of the Jeep, and her passengers, 0-year-old Collette Evelyn Bjorklund and 31-year-old Elizabeth Anna McGarvey, all sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Arlington RMC for treatment.

Stevermer, the driver of the Buick, and his passengers, 10-year-old Henry John Stevemer and 50-year-old Nicole Marie Stevemer, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Waconia Hospital.
The road conditions at the time were snow-covered and icy, which contributed to the collision. Sibley County Sheriff’s Office, Green Isle Fire, Hamburg Fire, and Ridgeview/Arlington/Gaylord Ambulances responded to the scene.
