Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Ramsey, Minnesota man, already burdened with a significant felony record, is now facing new charges in a fatal hit-and-run that occurred in Waskish Township.

Blayne Thorrot Hamilton Cox (DOB: 10/01/1976) has been charged with felony failure to stop at a traffic collision involving injury or death after allegedly fleeing the scene of a fatal crash that claimed the life of a man identified as S.O.

The victim’s vehicle, a green Jeep Wrangler, was found crashed along Highway 72, and evidence showed it had collided with a Chevrolet Impala. The Impala, traced to Cox, was discovered with intentionally hidden debris, and witnesses reported seeing a man matching Cox’s description inspecting the damaged vehicle nearby.

Surveillance video and community tips confirmed Cox’s identity. The Impala was later found being transported for scrapping, and Cox was arrested days later in St. Louis County on unrelated warrants.

Cox’s criminal record spans decades, including convictions for meth possession, burglary, felony domestic assault, firearm violations, and felony drug distribution. Multiple probation violation warrants remain active.

A felony warrant is currently active for this hit-and-run case in Beltrami County District Court.
