Ward County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Minot woman, Kristin Marie Laducer, is facing serious felony charges after allegedly kidnapping an 81-year-old man she once cared for, demanding $5,000 for his release.
According to a criminal affidavit, Laducer picked up the elderly man from his apartment and drove him around Minot for approximately two hours. During this time, she reportedly refused to let him exit the vehicle unless he paid her $5,000, purportedly to purchase a new car. The man, who suffers from vascular dementia, was eventually taken to an ATM to withdraw the cash before being returned to his residence.
Laducer has been charged with kidnapping, exploitation of a vulnerable adult, and theft of property. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
