Walsh County, ND: BCI Investigates Jail Incident in Grafton
WALSH COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been called in to assist following an incident at the Walsh County Jail in Grafton on Sunday morning.
According to North Dakota BCI officials, the agency is assisting the Walsh County Sheriff’s Office after an undisclosed incident occurred at the jail around 11:00 a.m.
Public Information Officer Christopher Larson confirmed the investigation in a statement released late Sunday morning, saying, “Authorities are responding to an incident at the Walsh County Jail in Grafton. Sheriff Ron Jurgens says exact details are limited, but the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting with the investigation.”
No further information has been released regarding the nature of the incident, and it remains unclear whether anyone was injured or arrested. Officials have not disclosed if the incident involved inmates, staff, or law enforcement personnel.
TRF News received a photo showing law enforcement vehicles outside the jail as of 11:00 a.m. Sunday. The area appeared to remain secure as investigators worked at the scene.
