Walsh County (https://trfnews.i234.me) – A medical emergency halted play during the Class B Legion State Baseball Tournament in Park River on Sunday afternoon, after a catcher suffered a cardiac event on the field.
According to a reliable source who was present at the scene, the catcher was playing in a game involving Lamoure and Thompson when he was struck in the left shoulder by a foul tip. Moments later, he grabbed his chest and collapsed.
Bystanders quickly began CPR, and a defibrillator was used on-site to restart his heart. The player was successfully revived and transported to a hospital in Park River.
No additional medical updates have been released at this time. Despite the shocking incident, the two teams reportedly decided to continue the game after the player was stabilized and taken for further care.
We will provide further updates as they become available.
