Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Walker man faces a DWI charge after a March 4 stop, according to a complaint.

Prosecutors charged Jaired Devon Jackson, 21, with driving with an alcohol level above 0.08. The complaint lists the charge as a gross misdemeanor. It says one aggravating factor was present. It also lists a reported breath test result of .24.

The charge was filed in Cass County District Court. That court is part of Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District. Court records list the case as file 11-CR-26-330.

What Investigators Allege

According to the complaint, deputies first responded to a fight report at a home on Onigum Road. The call involved a dispute between two women, listed as NW and JJ.

The complaint says NW left the home in a blue Cadillac before deputies arrived. A deputy later found the vehicle on the road. NW was a passenger. Jackson was driving, the complaint states.

The complaint says NW wanted charges against her mother. JJ told law enforcement that NW came to the home while intoxicated. JJ also said NW wanted to fight. JJ said she did not want NW back at the residence.

During the stop, the deputy spoke with Jackson about the reported altercation. The complaint says Jackson first said he was present. The complaint says he later said he was not there. The deputy then reported signs of impairment.

Court Filing Details

The complaint says Jackson had thick, slurred speech and watery eyes. The deputy then started field sobriety testing. The complaint says the eye test showed signs of impairment. Other tests were not done because road conditions were poor.

A preliminary breath test showed a reported .196 result, according to the complaint. Jackson was then taken to the Cass County Law Enforcement Center. The complaint says he was read the breath test advisory there. A later breath test showed a reported .24 result.
