The subject stated that her attacker was… and named him. More to this story than revealed. Horrible and tragic for both sides. 2 lives changed for the worse.
He will likely learn his lesson in Jamestown and she can get up to $300 a week in a victims compensation grant from COSMOS in ND (up to $25K) that is peanuts compared to liberal states that pay 10X that.
Those who live alone should think about prevention. Adopt a vicious dog from the pound who might provide protection and think about having a gun. You don't have to shoot the attacker just the noise will scare most attackers away.
