WAHPETON, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – On the evening of September 5, a 90-minute standoff in Wahpeton led to the arrest of 41-year-old Michelle Elizabeth Luna. Officers were dispatched to her residence at approximately 6:40 p.m. in response to reports of a protection order violation and vandalism.

Upon arrival, police found Luna inside a vehicle parked outside her home. As officers approached, Luna brandished a gun, prompting them to establish a perimeter around the area. A shelter-in-place order was issued for a 12-block radius, advising residents to stay indoors and avoid the scene. The standoff took place in the 1000 block of Seventh Avenue North.

After nearly an hour and a half of unsuccessful attempts to communicate with Luna, the Southern Valley Special Response Team intervened.
