WAHPETON (trfnews.i234.me) Brandon Cletus George of Wahpeton has pleaded guilty in a case tied to threats against officers and a knife during an arrest attempt.
Guilty Plea Entered in Richland County
Court records show George pleaded guilty on March 23 to two Class C felonies. Those charges were terrorizing and preventing arrest.
The case was handled in Richland County. Prosecutors said the incident happened on Jan. 14, 2025, at a home on Center Street South in Wahpeton.
Authorities said officers went to the residence after a report about active felony warrants from Cass County. Police confirmed those warrants before making contact.
According to court documents, officers told George they were there to arrest him. Prosecutors said George then showed a knife. Officers drew their weapons after seeing the blade.
Authorities said George then moved to the back of the home. He later came forward and was taken into custody.

Threats Continued During Arrest, Records Say
Investigators said George made repeated threats during the arrest. Court records said he threatened to kill officers and their family members.
Those threats, records said, continued on the trip to jail. They also continued after booking.
The terrorizing charge said George threatened violence and caused fear for safety. The preventing arrest charge said he created a serious risk of injury by showing a knife and resisting.
Sentence and Other Cases
George was sentenced to two years of probation on both counts. The probation terms will run at the same time.
At the time of the Wahpeton arrest, George also had four pending felony matters in Cass County for failure to appear. After that arrest, he pleaded guilty in three of those cases.
Those cases included terrorizing, criminal mischief, and burglary. In those matters, he received 305 days in the Cass County Jail. He was given credit for 267 days served and 38 days of good time. That meant no extra jail time was required.
In one criminal mischief case, George was also ordered to pay more than $1,600 to the Fargo Public Library in restitution.
A fourth felony case, involving contact with a correctional employee using bodily fluids, was dismissed.
