Wabasha County Crash Injures Two Drivers on US Hwy 61
Wabasha County (trfnews.i234.me) ā A crash involving two vehicles occurred on December 7, 2025, on southbound US Hwy 61 just south of MN Hwy 42. The incident took place around 8:22 a.m. in Greenfield Township, Wabasha County.
The crash involved a 1996 GMC Suburban and a 2017 Subaru Outback, both traveling southbound on US Hwy 61 in the J-turn lane to turn northbound. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the vehicles collided in icy, snow-covered conditions.
Benjamin David Timmerman, a 26-year-old male from Rochester, MN, was driving the GMC Suburban. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Wabasha Hospital. Timmerman was wearing his seatbelt, and the vehicle’s airbags did not deploy. Alcohol was not involved in the crash.

Laura Ann Lenz, a 56-year-old female from Rochester, MN, was driving the Subaru Outback. She also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Wabasha Hospital. Lenz was wearing her seatbelt, and her airbags did not deploy. No alcohol was involved.
Additionally, 56-year-old male passenger Todd David Rowekamp, also from Rochester, was in the Subaru Outback. He was uninjured in the crash and was wearing his seatbelt.
The Wabasha Police Department, Kellogg Fire Department, and Wabasha Ambulance assisted at the scene.
