Vikings/Bears Opening Odds: Minnesota Road Favorites Once Again

The Minnesota Vikings will finish off a three-game road swing in Week 12 when they head to Soldier Field for an NFC North matchup against the Chicago Bears. And, just as they were during the first two games of the road trip, they are favored to come home with a “W.”

The betting lines have opened up at FanDuel, and the purple have been installed as a 3.5-point favorite in early betting. The over/under for this one has been set at 39.5, which is right where it was for the Vikings’ game against Tennessee this past Sunday.

These two teams are moving in different directions. Following their two-game losing streak, the Vikings have run off three consecutive victories to get their record to 8-2 and keep pace with Detroit in the NFC North race. The Bears, on the other hand, have dropped their last four, including a 20-19 heartbreaker against Green Bay on Sunday when a potential game-winning field goal attempt was blocked at the final gun.

Minnesota will actually be seeking its fifth consecutive win at Soldier Field, as they haven’t lost there since an ugly 16-6 defeat in 2019. Overall, the Vikings have won six of their last eight against Chicago, with both losses coming at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The Vikings will get themselves a three-game homestand after this game in Chicago, and it would help their momentum significantly if they could come back home with a 9-2 mark. They’re the favorites to get it done, and hopefully they’ll be able to live up to those expectations.
