we now have an update regarding a stabbing that occurred during a fight between the groups of tubers on the mississippi river near bemidji on saturday evening a female victim was stabbed in the arm as reported by beltrami county sheriff’s department and elia goodman address now listed as cass lake has been charged with riot second degree armed with dangerous weapons and details from the case this from the criminal complaint quote saturday at approximately 6 30 p.m the beltrami county sheriff’s deputies responded to the mississippi river bridge on roosevelt road to investigate a public disturbance upon arrival deputies observed a large gathering of people on inner tubes in the river and on shore responding deputies were advised that an argument broke out between two groups of people which resulted in multiple and simultaneous fistfights various acts of violence and multiple threats made between members of the two groups sheriff’s deputies estimated that between 12 and 20 people were involved in the public disturbance it was reported that the female victim was stabbed or cut with a knife by elia goodman uh sheriff’s deputies obtained several statements from witnesses who reported that two groups of approximately 12 to 20 people were floating down the mississippi river between stump lake and wolf lake and began to argue and threaten one another a short distance from the mississippi river bridge in beltrami county at least one participated indicated she had videotaped the incident sheriff’s deputy has observed and recorded and recorded the video taken by this individual showing approximately 15 people engaged in fist fights violently pushing others down in the river and making threats of violence toward one another the video depicts goodman and the victim arguing in a shallow location in the river and goodman removing a knife from her swimsuit area and making his slicing motion towards the victim another male ran up to goodman and commandeered the knife away from her after she assaulted the victim as goodman brandished the knife for uh use in her confrontation with the victim the video depicts at least two other fistfights and other acts of violence between persons that also occurred in the shallow area in the river where the riot took place sheriff’s deputies could identify this location in the river as being in beltrami county deputies continued the investigation to identify the others who were engaged in the fist fighting acts of violence and threats that occurred between the two groups of adults deputies located goodman and placed her under arrest for participating in the riot with a weapon uh unquote that was from the criminal complaint and as i said elia goodman has now been charged with felony second-degree riot armed with a dangerous weapon i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
