VALLEY CITY, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — A 63-year-old woman named Lisa Hough was identified as the victim who lost her life in an apartment fire that occurred last week in Valley City. The incident took place just after midnight on Wednesday.
According to reports from emergency responders, two individuals managed to escape by jumping out of windows, while seven others were rescued by firefighters. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Hough succumbed to the injuries sustained during the blaze.
The apartment building suffered significant damage from fire and smoke, resulting in the displacement of all residents. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, and no determination has been made at this time.

Lisa Maureen Hough, age 63, of Valley City, ND, passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2024 at her residence. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30th, at 10:00 AM, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM at New Life Church in Valley.
She was born on June 8, 1961, to Barbara DePasquale and the late Malcolm Shawver in Seattle, Washington. Lisa had a deep love for the Seahawks, the ocean, and found joy and peace in cooking, pouring her heart into each dish she prepared.
Lisa was a beloved sister to Matthew (Lisa) Shawver, Christy (Anthony) Moseley, and Denise (Joseph) Johnson. She was a devoted mother to her children: Wesley (Staci) King, Courtney (Josh) Storhoff, William Hough, and Matthew Hough.
Lisa was also a proud grandmother to Patience (Drew) Buck, Faith King, Ian King, Jon Aarseth, Jordyn Aarseth, Aubriana Storhoff, Gavyn Storhoff, Izach Hilderman, and Tressa Olerud. She adored her great-granddaughter Piper and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her great-grandson.
Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her warm, generous spirit and the love she shared with everyone she met.
