BECKER COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A fatal shooting occurred early this Saturday morning near Acorn Lake in Becker County, Minnesota. Authorities responded to a report at 1:20 a.m. of an adult male being shot at 30397 Highway 10 Lot 12. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene around 2 a.m.
Willis Charles McDonald, a 31-year-old resident of Frazee, Minnesota, was arrested in connection with the shooting. He is currently in custody at the Becker County Jail, pending formal charges of 2nd Degree Murder without intent and Manslaughter.
The Becker County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Frazee Police Department, Detroit Lakes Police, Minnesota State Patrol, Otter Tail Sheriff’s Office, and the Minnesota BCA. Authorities believe this to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public. The victim’s name will be released once the family is notified.
