SILVER BAY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) The victim of a deadly jump off a water falls near Silver Bay, Minnesota has been identified.
A man drowned after a jump from High Falls in a state park near Silver Bay, Minnesota this morning. This in from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 11:34 a.m. on this Monday. Lake County Dispatch received a 911 call stating a male had jumped off the high falls within the state park and not resurfaced. Lake County deputies, rescue squad, Silver Bay Police, Park Rangers, Minnesota DNR, State Patrol, and Lake County Ambulance Service all responded. On scene, officers deployed an underwater uh ROV at approximately 1:46 p.m. The victim has now been identified by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office as 54year-old Gre Gregory Cornup of Adina, Minnesota. Uh Lake County Sheriff’s Office personnel learned the victim was visiting the area with his family and jumped from the top of High Falls uh on the Baptism River. It appears the victim hit his head on the rocks near the base of the falls while entering the water and did not resurface. Uh his body transported Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy as standard protocol. Bob Carlson for trfnews.i234.me.
