UPDATE: Two individuals saved from Upper Red Lake in Minnesota

up the lake forest stranger through the lake we have an update now from the Bel tramy County Sheriff’s Department regarding another ice rescue on upper Red Lake I news first told you about Thursday evening uh quote two men were rescued after the Polaris Ranger they were operating broke through the ice on upper Red Lake Thursday evening at 5:09 p.m. the Bel tramy County uh 911 call uh from a fisherman that indicated two of the four members of their Fishman party had broken through the ice on the Southeastern part of upper Red Lake initial information indicated they were wearing buoyant ice suits that kept them afloat bystanders used a rope to get the man out of the water and back to Shore emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the scene and staged at uh staff lodged on Jose Beach Road on the southeastern shore of upper Red Lake First Responders met the two individuals at the lodge where they were being warned formed with blankets and heaters both men age 67 were being treated for hypothermia and cold weather exposure the air temperature was near zero one party was treated by Emergency Medical Services on scene and released the other was transported to Sanford uh emergency department in piji with a broken hand hypothermia and cold weather exposures while ice conditions have improved with Colder Weather ice remains inconsistent in areas always check with local experts such as guides and Resorts and bait shops before going on Ice Bel tramy Sheriff’s Office assisted by kellier fire and rescue kellier First Responders black duck ambulance Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and bystanders I’m Neil Berg reporting for in trfnews.i234.me
