UPDATE: Truck Recovered from Frozen Lake of the Woods with Driver Unharmed

LAKE OF THE WOODS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) We have an update regarding a semi breaking into the ice on Lake of the Woods Tuesday. As of this evening its out and the driver is safe.
we have an update on this uh semi hauling rock that partially fell through the ice up on the north side of lake of the woods near flag island uh tuesday around noon um as of this tuesday evening the truck is out we have the statement from the uh truck’s owner andrew stoskoff who says uh ice road trucking isn’t for everyone people on the islands need materials and they have to get it there somehow trucking across the ice is an efficient and practical way to do this we take many safety precautions and sometimes things happen equipment is out of the water and nobody got hurt uh he goes on to say we haul many lows per year across the ice the odds are it’s bound to happen once in a while again that’s from andrew stoskoff the owner of the truck here that partially fell through the ice on this tuesday evening it’s out and everyone’s okay i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me

  1. im sorry but why the hell do they need fricking rocks on flag island? i have been there…..dont really recall there being a huge market or need for rocks?! seems extremely senseless to me. i hope the government didnt incur any of those costs..ugh some ppls kids

  2. Boss should have had his driver haul minimal load. I forget about that mighty dollar. Hurry up and get the job done. Hope that boss is eating the bill and not the driver. Hope that you are doing well driver. 🙏👍✌

  3. And what do you do for a living Delbert? Well, I hauls real heavy double trailer loads of heavy rock across kinda thin ice up here in Minnesota, hoping to not hear any loud cracking sounds.

  4. I'm glad everyone is okay. I'm glad they got the truck out too. Ice Road Trucking is a very dangerous occupation. My hat is off to the men and women who make a living doing this.

  5. Why on earth would you do that this winter , this has been the warmest and least snow winter in Minnesota that I can remember. We had 7-8 days in a row of solid below zero weather that's about it .
