UPDATE: TRF News Reveals The Identity Of Man Shot & Killed By Crookston Police Officer Sunday Night

Christopher Junkin

CROOKSTON, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Following a tragic altercation at the Care & Share homeless shelter in Crookston, Minnesota, police have identified the man shot and killed as 44-year-old Christopher Junkin, originally from Ventura, California. Christopher leaves behind four children, according to his niece Amanda Elliot, who described him as a kind-hearted man dedicated to bettering himself and supporting others.

Police responded to a disturbance at the shelter where they allege Junkin did not comply with commands, leading to the use of lethal force after attempts with non-lethal methods. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is currently investigating the incident, aiming to provide more details soon.

Amanda Elliot expressed disbelief over the police account, stating her uncle was unarmed and would not have resisted fatally. She highlighted his efforts to stay sober, pursue education, and rebuild his life with his family in California.
