UPDATE: Tragic Outcome – Man Perishes in Vehicle Plunging Through Ice On Lake Bemidji, Woman Miraculously Survives

BEMIDJI, MN (trfnews.i234.me) The Sheriff now says a man died and a woman survived, after their vehicle plunged through the ice on Lake Bemidji Christmas Eve.
we have an update uh regarding a vehicle with two people in it falling through the ice on lake bemidji on christmas eve uh one man has died and a woman survived uh here’s some of the radio traffic at 5 11 p.m on christmas eve uh rescuers called to uh diamond point some 300 feet offshore water rescue for footage fire two people in the water plus 300 feet out from diamond the sheriff’s department says upon arrival they found an adult female who was able to get out of the water on her own and was immediately transported to sanford hospital an adult male was recovered from the water by a deputy and bemidji firefighter wearing a cold water emergency suit and transported to sanford life-saving efforts were performed and the subject was then transferred to sanford and fargo the mail would later be pronounced deceased the names of the victims have not been released yet the area where the vehicle went through the ice is in eight to ten feet of water and has been barricaded the ice in the area is unstable like uh in many area lakes deputies estimate that uh four to five inches of ice was found at the location i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
