UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Mille Lacs Murder Case

MILLE LACS LAKE, MN (trfnews.i234.me) The Mille Lacs County Sheriff says a person of interest has been arrested in connection to a homicide along Mille Lacs Lake.
yeah good afternoon everybody Kyle Burton here your Sheriff just wanted to provide a quick video update on an incident we had yesterday involving a homicide investigation in wax County there’s already been some media releases that have been put out on this and uh just now getting the time to do a quick video so yesterday at about 1 48 in the afternoon we got a call from some of our Highway Maintenance workers that we’re working up on Twilight Road up on the North End of our County that they had located what they thought to be possibly a body in the ditch they were doing some some road work and cleaning out some garbage out of the ditches and they locate this uh this tote they were not able to move it they ended up looking inside the toad and it’s human remains in inside of the taupe so we responded to that scene and processed that along with the assistance from the Minnesota BCA Tribal Police um we ended up having a person of interest and custody in less than two hours from the time we got this report a lot of things happened really fast and there’s a lot I can’t share quite yet because we’re still trying to connect all these dots together but suffice it to say some really good police work happened here and uh the fact that we have a person of interest and custody on a homicide in that amount of time is is uh not typical so the person of interest we have sitting in our jail right now is a male 21 years old by the name of Bradley weas and he’s currently uh being held on four uh outstanding arrest warrants that he had that are not related to this homicide investigation but like I said he has a person of interest in it um so right now he’s sitting on those warrants and we’re still working through uh processing of evidence and Gathering reports and information and we hope to have enough to submit uh all of this package to the county attorney’s office here within the next 24 to 36 hours and I will be looking for some charges at that point as far as the victim I can’t release that name right now uh reason for that is the medical examiner’s office has not made official positive identification on that person once that happens then I will be releasing the name of our victim so that should be happening I’m hoping by the end of today we should get that confirmation from the medical examiner’s office along with uh autopsy results on what the exact cause of death was so to recap last night we were processing multiple scenes we did multiple search warrants we had the scene initially where this body was found in the 14200 block of Twilight road we had a scene where our Person of Interest was located and taken into custody up at North cathio Township but Southport Road and then we had another search warrant that we executed in the city of Il in an apartment building all of these are connected to this incident and part of the investigation and we’re still in the in the process of just kind of piece Milling this all together and uh putting pen to paper so that’s what I have right now I just wanted to update everybody as you all know and I believe in transparency and sharing as much information as early as I can um but stand by for further updates uh today in the next couple of days thanks everybody be safe
