UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Brutal Bemidji Stabbing

BEMIDJI, MN (trfnews.i234.me) An arrest has been made in connection to a gruesome Wednesday night stabbing in Bemidji, Minnesota.
we’ve had an arrest in that gruesome stabbing we told you about in bemidji late last night this now in from bemidji police at 11 30 wednesday night a police officer performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle which had left the 300 block of minnesota avenue at a high speed upon investigation officers learned that a passenger of the vehicle stated he had been stabbed by a person in the 100 block of third street northwest that victim at the time from radio traffic had a report of stab wounds to the head the driver of the vehicle explained they had witnessed the assault and were driving the victim to the hospital officers immediately rendered medical aid and began to invest investigate the assault officers identified the victim as 38 year old donald pepworth of bemidji additional officers located a male in the 100 block of third street northwest who had appeared to have been assaulted and identified him as jace kerrigan 24 of bemidji kerrigan stated he was assaulted and a portable heater had been stolen by him by pepworth after an interview of kerrigan he stated he had stabbed pepworth who attempted to steal his speaker kerrigan denied medical attention for his injuries pepworth was transported to sanford medical center for further evaluation the investigation is ongoing charges have been referred to the beltrami county attorney’s office for assault and robbery after initial investigation it does not appear there is any danger to the public and bemidji police detectives continue to work with witnesses and property owners to identify any further information in the case anyone with additional information should contact bemidji police detectives at one one 218-333-9111 i’m neal carlson reporting for eye news dot tv
