We have an update now regarding what we now know was a shooting incident at a gas station in Cass Lake on Tuesday morning. This in from Cass County, Minnesota Sheriff Brian Welk. Uh Tuesday at 11:16 a.m. They received reports of an individual with a gun shooting in the parking lot of a business uh here on Aspen Avenue in Cass Lake. Deputies arrived on scene and initiated an investigation with individuals involved. The investigation revealed a family was traveling in a passenger vehicle from the Baiji area to the Twin Cities metro area when a dispute occurred. The driver of the vehicle stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of the business. Passengers exited the vehicle and a weapon was fired at an adult male passenger. A gas pump at the business was struck by fire. An adult male, Jose Panetta Jr., age 20 of Minneapolis was arrested and transported to the Cass County Jail. Uh charges including reckless discharge of a firearm, seconddegree assault, domestic assault are pending. There were minor injuries reported from the dispute.
