BEMIDJI, MN (trfnews.i234.me) Outrage is beginning to boil over in Bemidji as elderly and disabled residents of a subsidized housing apartment building are told to move out.

Put them in a motel and use their rent money to pay the motel. They will then have time to make other arrangements. Problem solved.
What on earth is going on here?? Why is there NO interest at political level for what is happening to these residents?? WHERE are the leaders of Bemidji???
This falls under MN (eminent domain) safety; statutes 416.15 – 416.26 clearly state that until the residence is deemed inhabitable they must leave their residence & that ➡️they have 60 days to come back & remove their belongings.⬅️ This can be in one go or over many trips. After the 60 days expire the city of Bemidji must go to court again and the time may be extended.

Also check the insurance the building has that covers relocation of tenants forced to vacate. You may be surprised.
"the city made the decision to require the tenants to vacate their units. The vacation of the building is required to begin no later than July 5 and must be completed by 4 p.m. on July 6." Dramatics, be angry at the city 🙄
I was one of the residents that got kicked out, I lived there for almost eight years.

This manager is a horrible person how can anyone leave all their belongings with in one week. Especially the elderly and handicapped.

Somebody please explain what is wrong with this Apt Building ??? If this building was being lived in up to this point without an obvious (Structural Integrity issue)why the super fast boot to the Curb ?. This smells Rotten ? like a way to fix an issue and then charge waaaaay more money to the next Leasers/Renters when everything is fixed .
Sounds like a great case for the MN attorney general! For those that have been trying to help. A huge thank you! To the manager and building owners…he’ll has a special place for you! There already isn’t enough affordable housing in Bemidji for goodness sake!
