UPDATE: New Information Regarding the Man Who Went Missing in Upper Red Lake

UPPER RED LAKE, MN (trfnews.i234.me) We have more details from a witness, after a man who was believed to have fallen through the ice on Upper Red Lake Wednesday was found safe this afternoon,
Neil Berg here on the phone with me is johnny petrowski we’ve got an update to that man who is believed maybe in upper red lake but found uh safe this afternoon uh that was after ice rescue crews were called out uh late wednesday afternoon and then he’s now been found safe so did you find him or what happened with all that he he actually walked himself to safety he was on the uh ended up on the very remote north shore up red lake uh actually in the tribal waters a little ways and he walked himself to my neighbor’s house and luckily they were able to take care of him then i went out and found the vehicle and marked this location and luckily everything worked out good he’s safe and the vehicle’s pretty much safe and everything just turned out pretty good luckily so the vehicle did fall through the ice or what happened it broke through a shoreline pressure ridge it is it’s pretty much stuck i mean it’s not even really through the ice it’s stuck in about 12 inches of water okay so it the pickup vehicle is still out on the ice yes it was still still on the ice but right on the shoreline it would appear that he was possibly following the shoreline trying to find somewhere to get off the ice okay any idea why he waited so long to contact anybody or no i wasn’t able to speak with him once he was discovered at the cabin there they had sheriffs right away and they got him onto an ambulance just to check them out and everything else so i wasn’t able to speak with him okay just seemed kind of strange since it happened you know like yesterday why it took this long but yeah yeah exactly and you know he may have he may have just hunkered down in his vehicle and stayed warm and safe hoping someone was going to find him you know oh another thing it’s kind of thing you want to do when you’re stranded and don’t know where you’re at yeah and then maybe walk to the uh resident other place today then yeah and the vehicle was actually uh just over three miles from that residence okay all right so we don’t know for sure but it’s possible it could have stuck with the vehicle and then just walk to the residence today and that’s why we just found it yeah that would make sense to me all right okay i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
