NAYTAHWAUSH, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – In Naytahwaush, Minnesota, what was initially believed to be a homicide investigation has been clarified. The Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office now confirms that the death of a 56-year-old woman was due to a medical issue rather than foul play. Deputies responded to a report of a woman found bleeding and unresponsive, with what appeared to be entry and exit wounds on her arm. This led to the involvement of the BCA for a possible homicide investigation.
However, further investigation by UND pathologists revealed that the woman had died from an infection related to where IVs had been administered. The infection, not external wounds, was the cause of her death. The woman’s name will be released at a later time.
