UPDATE: Machete Man Charged, Remains Hospitalized

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – We have an update on the recent incident involving a man with a machete terrorizing people in Downtown Grand Forks. Just after 10 PM on Thursday, Christopher Michael Strong of Grand Forks was charged with reckless endangerment and three counts of terrorizing.

Incident Details

  • Threats and Attacks: Strong allegedly swung a machete at a person riding a scooter and at two others. Thankfully, no one was injured during these attacks. One victim stated that they would have shot the suspect in self-defense if they had been armed.
  • Suspect’s Statements: According to reports, Strong believed that a cartel was after him, which may have motivated his actions.
  • Self-Inflicted Injury: As police attempted to de-escalate the situation, Strong cut his own throat with the machete. He was hospitalized, and his current condition remains unknown.

Charges

Christopher Michael Strong now faces charges of reckless endangerment and three counts of terrorizing for his actions during the incident.
