Update from Police Department: Press Conference Regarding Fargo Shooting Deaths

FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) Fargo Police hold a news conference regarding the shooting deaths of 2 men in Fargo on Saturday.
good afternoon uh we’re just here to provide a brief update on the double homicide that occurred over the weekend there’s not a lot of information and we’re able to share at this juncture the investigation is ongoing and active and there’s many investigative leads that are criminal investigation division Personnel are following up on uh just to synapsize we know that we have two individuals from the community Carrie Davis and Jaquan Gatewood who ultimately were killed in this incident our condolences to their families as we continue to investigate this to find out exactly what happened and who is responsible for this heinous crime to recap our officers were sent Saturday November 19th at approximately 3 17 A.M it’s a report of shots fired in the 1000 block of 15th Street North upon arrival the officer is located the two decedents along with several other people who had been at the residence for a gathering we are currently interviewing many of those folks and we’re also seeking any other additional witnesses to this crime we would certainly encourage our community if there’s anyone out there that was either at this particular gathering at the house in the in the 15th Street North black or was it witness to this in any way to please contact our tip line so that we can reach out to them and gather any additional information that they may have and that’s currently where we sit in terms of the investigation I’ll try to answer questions but again there’s not much information that I can elaborate on in detail due to the comprehensive nature of the investigation yes Matt so to clarify are police looking for someone or do you think there’s been some speculation online that these two shot and killed each other can you elaborate on that just in the interest of Public Safety if there’s a suspected killer on the loose sure an interest of Public Safety we are extremely confident that everyone in this incident was familiar with everyone else so there’s no random person uh involved at this juncture and so from a public safety perspective we don’t believe that there’s any other danger to the community these were all individuals known to each other we’re still trying to work through the why did this happen who’s responsible and in what way what led to this act of gun violence so those questions we really don’t have the answers to in order to maintain the Integrity of the investigation obviously we can’t divulge what we’ve already learned so as we know more about it if we identify a suspect we’d certainly let the community know once we’ve honed it down to a particular individual or an individuals have you guys happen to identify how many people were in the home you said there was a gathering but how many have you determined that uh no we have not can you share how many Firearms have been recovered no we can’t provide any of those specifics at this time sure was the Gathering a party it was a gathering of individuals known to each other I don’t I’ll speak I would categorize it as a party at this juncture uh do you mind if I ask two questions so Paul doesn’t have to keep running around uh the first one who’s home is it uh that information we aren’t divulging at this juncture either so you can’t say if either of the two men live there I’ll follow up with you on that I’m not certain that they did look do you know that sir okay neither one of them live there okay and is there an indication that this may have either been Gang Related or something in regards to their uh rap careers uh both of them appear in rap videos together any indication there was beef between them from the rap game or if this was gang-related nothing at this time
