Glen Ullin, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – On December 27, 2024, at approximately 4:35 PM Central Time, a single-vehicle accident occurred on County Road 88, half a mile north of Glen Ullin. The incident involved a 2025 Kia Sorento driven by Linda Schneider, a 66-year-old female from Hebron. Road and weather conditions were reported as good and clear, respectively.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported that the driver became distracted by a phone call, causing the vehicle to veer off the roadway into the eastbound ditch. The Kia Sorento collided with a concrete bridge support and came to a stop. Ms. Schneider was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and sustained serious injuries. She was airlifted by Sanford AirMed to Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, where she was pronounced deceased.
Three juvenile passengers from Hebron, aged 11, 12, and 15, were in the vehicle at the time of the accident. All were wearing seatbelts and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to Sanford Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Morton County Sheriff’s Department, Glen Ullin Fire and Ambulance, Hebron Ambulance, and Sanford AirMed responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol. Names of the juvenile passengers have not been released.
