UPDATE: Cavalier County Dam in North Dakota Nearly Fails

CAVALIER COUNTY, ND (trfnews.i234.me) The latest on that Cavalier County, North Dakota dam that almost failed earlier this week.
as we told you on wednesday the national guard uh wrapped up placing those uh sandbags one ton sandbags 213 of them on the borna bay’s dam a bit of an update now from the pemina county emergency management erosion at the borna base dam has stabilized in the area sandbag the remaining tongue river dams are performing as designed and levels will be monitored closely as the temperature warms and snow melt continues in the upper watershed north dakota highway 5 will remain closed at this time due to the level of risk from the damaged spillway still continuing to have water running on it as the dam gradually returns to a regular pool level uh levels at burna bays have continued to flow on the damaged spillway so high capacity pumps will be installed overnight to begin to move water downstream access to the dam is restricted to authorized personnel on official business only the areas close to the public due to the sensitive nature nature of the repair and continued risk again that was from the pembina county emergency management i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
