Cass County: Oriska Woman Seriously Hurt In Crash Near Tower City

CASS COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released an update on a serious injury crash that occurred Sunday afternoon north of Tower City.

According to a news release, the crash happened around 1:25 p.m. on October 5, 2025, at the intersection of 132nd Avenue Southeast and 30th Street, about three miles north of Tower City. A 2003 Ford F-350 pulling a gooseneck flatbed trailer was traveling north when it failed to negotiate a curve.

The truck, driven by 57-year-old Debra Baasch of Oriska, North Dakota, crossed the median and came to rest in a nearby field. Baasch was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and suffered serious injuries.

She was transported by ambulance to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo for treatment. Authorities say road and weather conditions were dry at the time of the crash.

Assisting at the scene were the Cass County and Barnes County Sheriff’s Offices, Tower City Fire Department, Page Ambulance Service, and Barnes County Ambulance.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident, and potential charges are under review.
