This update now regarding a report of a fireworks death at Natawash, Minnesota on the 4th of July. This now in from Manomomen County Sheriff Josh Gunther on the 4th at 11:14 p.m. Officers responded to 310 New Drive in Nawash for a report of a 13-year-old male being struck with a firework. When officers arrived, they observed that the victim was not breathing and had no pulse. CPR was performed until medics arrived and life-saving measures were continued until the victim was pronounced deceased at 12:07 a.m. According to witness statements, Michael Turner, 13 of Natawash, was holding a large firework in his hands, pointed it away from himself when it was lit. When the firework went off, it shot through the bottom of the tube and hit Turner in the chest. Uh, another witness stated that the tube hit Turner in the chest. Turner fell to the ground, clutching his chest. Bystanders ran to Turner’s aid and began chest compressions. This incident remains under investigation, pending an autopsy.
