GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) Grand Forks Police now say an incident at the Islamic Center this Monday afternoon was the end of an Attempted Robbery and Kidnapping. The suspect, Abdi Ahmedali is in custody.
we have an update now regarding this standoff at the Grand Forks Islamic Center on this Monday afternoon it was an attempted robbery and kidnapping this is from Grand Forks Police on this Monday 2:26 p.m officers dispatched here to 17th Avenue South for a report of a male subject that pointed a gun at another male who was in a car and then walked into the Islamic Center when officers arrived on scene they began clearing victims who were in and around the Islamic Center to try and identify where the subject was located while doing this one male subject was detained and identified as Abdi Ahmedali during the course of the investigation it was learned that Ahmed Ali had gotten into a vehicle with a victim pointed a gun at him and made him drive to here to the Islamic Center ahmed Ali was subsequently arrested for attempted armed robbery and kidnapping grand Forks police would like to thank members of the Islamic Center for their help and cooperation during the situation if you have any information related to this incident you’re asked to reach out to Grand Forks Police i’m Alex Stone reporting for trfnews.i234.me

Carjacking at gunpoint doesn’t really strike me as “attempted kidnapping.” Sounds like actual kidnapping.
Who would have thought that allowing millions of people from one country to immigrate into Minnesota would have such disastrous consequences only a couple of decades later.

At least no one was harmed. I can only imagine what happened what happened to Abdi in the years since high school. It's a shame when desperation of any kind drives someone to criminal activity.
