Union Workers Ratify New Contract at Case New Holland Plant in Fargo

FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – In a significant development for labor relations at the Case New Holland ag equipment manufacturing plant in Fargo, North Dakota, union workers have voted to approve a new contract, averting the possibility of a strike.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 2525 announced the ratification of the new contract with the company. The agreement, which was ratified on Saturday morning, comes after the expiration of the previous six-year contract on April 28th. However, negotiations continued, with both the union and the company agreeing to extend the contract while discussions persisted.

Key points of contention included the union’s demands for a pay raise, the retention of healthcare benefits, and job protections. The ratified contract addresses these concerns, providing significant improvements over the company’s original offer. Notably, the union successfully retained its healthcare insurance plan, which the company had initially proposed replacing with a self-insurance program.

Jeremy Pearson, the Union Business Agent, highlighted the importance of the negotiations and praised the company for making concessions to address member concerns. He described the negotiations as intense, underscoring the significance of the outcome for the workers represented by the union.

The ratified contract covers nearly 700 union members and marks a crucial step forward in maintaining a harmonious and productive working relationship between the union and the company.
