Itasca County ( trfnews.i234.me ) — Two northern Minnesota men are facing charges after deputies say they were identified in a burglary near Pengilly earlier this month.

According to court documents filed in Itasca County District Court, 23-year-old Korbyn Charles Dale of Warroad and 39-year-old Jeffrey David Kasper of Grand Rapids have been charged in connection with the incident. The break-in occurred on August 13, 2025.

Deputies responded to a report of a burglary at a property near Pengilly and discovered broken windows and forced entry on multiple doors. Surveillance video from the scene allegedly showed two suspects carrying items out of the property before fleeing on foot. The suspects left behind a vehicle that investigators linked to them.

The investigation led authorities to execute a search warrant at Kasper’s residence on Park Drive in Grand Rapids. Deputies reported finding several items connected to the burglary inside the home. In addition, investigators say methamphetamine was recovered, resulting in Kasper facing an additional drug possession charge.

Dale and Kasper are being held in connection with the case. Both face felony burglary charges, while Kasper faces the added drug-related charge. Court documents state the case remains active and additional hearings are pending in Itasca County District Court.

Burglaries in Minnesota are classified by severity depending on whether a residence is occupied and whether weapons or controlled substances are involved. Penalties can include significant prison time and fines. More details on Minnesota burglary statutes can be found at the Minnesota Legislature website.
