THOMPSON, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A rear-end collision on August 23, 2024, at approximately 1:44 PM CDT resulted in injuries to two passengers near the intersection of 11th Street NE and 7th Avenue NE, about two miles east of Thompson. The crash involved a 2001 Western Star truck-tractor semi-trailer and a 2020 Hino straight truck.
The Hino, driven by Lee Snell, 35, of Pueblo, CO, was slowing to make a left turn when it was struck from behind by the Western Star, driven by Andrew Chapman, 23, of Grand Forks, ND. The impact caused the Western Star to veer off the road into the east ditch, tipping onto its right side. The Hino spun across the centerline, coming to rest near the southbound right turn lane.
Two passengers in the Hino, Noah Frawley, 22, of Monument, CO, and Matthew Montoya, 36, of Colorado Springs, CO, sustained injuries and were transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Both drivers were uninjured.
