Two Injured in 3-Car Crash at Hwy 53 and S 12th Ave – Virginia, MN Collision Involved Parked Vehicle

VIRGINIA, ST. LOUIS COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A Saturday night crash on Highway 53 and South 12th Avenue in Virginia, MN, sent two Eveleth women to the hospital after a multi-vehicle incident involving a parked car.

The crash occurred at 9:23 PM on April 19, 2025, under dry road conditions.
According to officials, a 2013 Chrysler Town & Country, driven by Angela Mae Sleen, 40, of Eveleth, was turning westbound onto S 12th Ave from northbound Hwy 53 when it collided with a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling southbound, driven by Angela Patricia Nelson, 52, also of Eveleth.

After the impact, Nelson’s Chevrolet left the roadway and struck an unoccupied Ford vehicle.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, airbags deployed, and both were treated at Virginia Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol was not a factor.

Emergency response included the Virginia Police, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, and the Virginia Fire Department.
