Two individuals face charges in a hazardous protest incident at Hubbard County pipeline site.

we had two people arrested tuesday in what would appear to be a dangerous pipeline protest stopped south of park rapids minnesota this from hubbard county sheriff corey aukas on tuesday at 12 55 a.m the sheriff’s office received a report of multiple individuals trespassing at an end bridge line three work site in straight river township pipeline workers further reported that two of the individuals had crawled into the pipe as others ran off into the woods as deputies arrived at the work seat worksite it was learned that the section of pipe was over two thousand feet long and that the individuals had not yet come out attached to ropes two hubbard county deputies entered the pipe in an attempt to apprehend the suspects the two suspects were uncooperated were uncooperative and crawled further into the pipe at one thousand five hundred forty feet into the pipe deputies apprehended the two suspects who are now attached to each other with a sleeping dragon device the suspects refused to release themselves from the device deputies and pipeline workers then pulled all four individuals out of the pipe the two suspects were identified as 25 year old brock heffel of dubuque iowa and 24 year old aiden sponheim of minneapolis the two were transported to the hubbard county jail where they are facing trespass and felony theft charges i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me

  1. Sounds harsh, but I had plenty of confined space entry training at Northwest Airlines. More fatalities result among the rescuers than among the initial victims. No effort to save these morons is worth a fire fighter or law enforcement officer not coming back out alive. Let these clowns be martyrs if they want.

  2. Rather than jail time for these boys a judge should make them come to work for my construction company or any other one. If they have that much time and ambition on their hands

  3. A sleeping dragon device is basically putting a section of a pipe made of metal or PVC over the links of handcuffs or chains. Protestors use these to chain themselves together and/or to fixed objects, so that police can't use bolt-cutters to disentangle the protestors.
