A Thief River Falls woman was sentenced Thursday, Jan. 5 in Pennington County District Court for a felony drug offense.
Tanya Lynn Aery, 33, was sentenced for a felony charge of fifth-degree controlled substance crime previous conviction. She was sentenced to 13 months in prison. That sentence is to be served to concurrently with another case. Aery was also ordered to pay $210 in fees and fines.
The charge stemmed from a Sept. 15 probation check at Aery’s home, 623 Horace Ave. N., Unit B. According to the complaint, her probation officer learned that Aery had been using methamphetamine. When the probation check was being conducted at the apartment, Albert Sevigny, who was on probation for a criminal sexual conduct case at the time, was allegedly staying there and present.
Aery possessed 4.8 grams of meth, including 4 grams in a bag and 0.8 grams in her bedroom. Suboxone and marijuana were also found in her room.
She declined to say who owned the suboxone or the marijuana. Aery allegedly said she had obtained the meth from Vyetta Longo and had messages about Longo providing her with the wrong bag of meth earlier that day.
Sevigny allegedly possessed 0.5 grams in his bedroom. He admitted to using meth a night earlier.
The complaint indicated Aery had been previously convicted of three drug offenses felony fifth-degree in January 2021, felony third-degree in October 2021, and gross misdemeanor fifth-degree in March 2021.
The former conviction occurred in Beltrami County while the others occurred in Pennington County.
